KAPATAGAN POST HARVEST FACILITY (2008)

Advanced post harvest technology such as cold storage helps address food loss and farmer’s marginal income in  a vegetable industry. But, in agricultural areas with  low availability of infrastructure and utilities that could sustain  such technology, cold storage is highly and costly maintained. The availability of  the traditional technology that speaks of subsistence and sustainability (Lancaster and Coursey, 1984) allows the post harvest facility to be less independent on those facilities. Likewise, it is important to apply this ‘”rural technology or traditional technology ”  in the post harvest facility model that this study had aim to come up with.
